After the Maldives barred Israeli passport holders from entering the country, the Israeli Embassy in India has stepped in to offer an alternative. They’ve pointed out numerous stunning Indian beaches for Israeli tourists to explore instead.
In a recent post on social media, the embassy announced, “With Maldives closing its doors to Israelis, here are some breathtaking Indian beaches where Israeli travelers are warmly welcomed and treated with exceptional hospitality. Take a look at these suggestions from @IsraelinIndia, based on our diplomats’ experiences .”
The list includes the picturesque beaches of Lakshwadeep, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar islands, and Kerala.
Even the Israeli consul general in Mumbai, Kobbi Shoshani, joined in, responding to a previous post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had praised the natural beauty of Lakshadweep back in January.
Shoshani expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the Maldives Government’s decision, Israelis can now explore the beautiful beaches of #Lakshadweep.”
This development follows the Maldives’ announcement on Sunday, where they declared a ban on individuals with Israeli passports entering the country. The decision was revealed by Maldives Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihsaan, during a press conference at the President’s Office.
