Priyanka Chopra’s venture into the New York restaurant scene, Sona, known for its modern take on Indian cuisine, is bidding farewell after three years. The establishment, co-founded with Maneesh Goyal, will serve its final brunch on June 30, marking the end of an era that began with a traditional Indian puja ceremony attended by Priyanka and Nick Jonas.

In an Instagram announcement on June 19, Sona expressed gratitude to its patrons, stating, “After more than three remarkable years, Sona will be closing. It’s been our greatest honor to serve you.”

The restaurant attracted a star-studded clientele including Mindy Kaling, Anupam Kher, Vicky Kaushal, and Katrina Kaif, offering dishes like Kerala roast chicken and paneer lababdar alongside inventive cocktails.

Priyanka Chopra, who frequently shared glimpses of Sona on social media, parted ways with the restaurant last year amid reports of a partnership shift with Maneesh Goyal. Despite stepping back creatively, Priyanka’s influence remained palpable at Sona, with Maneesh acknowledging her ongoing connection to the restaurant.

Reflecting on the venture, Priyanka’s representatives highlighted her commitment to promoting Indian culture, whether through film and television or haute cuisine.

As Sona prepares to close its doors, Priyanka Chopra continues her work in entertainment, currently filming for The Bluff and sharing updates from the set with her followers.
