Yatharth Hospital, led by Chairman and Whole-time Director Ajay Kumar Tyagi and Managing Director Kapil Kumar, is currently grappling with a series of severe allegations that could irreparably damage its reputation.

The National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) has recently called for an urgent report from the Uttar Pradesh government following the unearthing of a major illegal organ transplant racket. This scandal has revealed connections between Yatharth Hospital and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi. Senior transplant surgeon D Vijaya Rajakumari, along with six others, has been arrested for allegedly performing unauthorized kidney transplants at Yatharth Hospital, raising serious concerns about the hospital’s involvement in this illicit network.

In addition to the transplant scandal, Yatharth Hospital is under investigation for substantial tax evasion. The Income Tax Department’s raids on the hospital’s facilities across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi have exposed significant financial irregularities, further compounding the institution’s troubles.

The hospital’s woes are not confined to financial and legal issues. Last year, a serious incident occurred when a lift malfunctioned at Yatharth’s Noida facility, resulting in four injuries—a stark indication of lapses in safety protocols. Furthermore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, an FIR was lodged against Yatharth’s doctors under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code for alleged negligence leading to patient deaths. This charge underscores ongoing concerns about the hospital’s standards of care.

With these severe allegations mounting, the critical question remains: Can Yatharth Hospital, under the leadership of Ajay Kumar Tyagi and Kapil Kumar, navigate these controversies and restore its credibility? The unfolding scandals have cast a long shadow over the hospital’s future, leaving patients, regulators, and the public anxiously awaiting answers and accountability.
